1. Why did you decide you wanted to be on the Board?

Over the years Fundraising Convention has played such an important part in my own development. It’s given me a chance to learn, to network and in latter years to hone my own presenting skills. I wanted to join the board to give something back and help ensure Fundraising Convention is relevant and inspiring for the next generation of fundraisers coming through.

2. What are you going to bring to the Board?

It’s my first year on the board, so hopefully I can bring a fresh perspective.

My team at Age UK are a diverse bunch, and always happy to speak their minds. So my plan is to consult them, and bring their ideas to the table as well as my own. After all, Fundraising Convention is only truly successful if it reflects the interests and needs of delegates of all levels, from a range of organisations and backgrounds.

3. What are you looking forward to about this year’s Fundraising Convention?

Learning new stuff. Fundraising is a constantly evolving creature: you snooze, you lose. I learn best from listening so the opportunity to get to hear from dozens of Fundraisers who are literally top of their game  that’s practically priceless.

I also love a good debate so I’m looking forward to having a few of those, with some old friends and sparring partners (you know who you are!).
